Replace the disposable filter if applicable

Was the filter replaced with the same type and size?

Ensure all other gas appliances are turned off

Wait for at least fifteen minutes after the heating cycle has started

Clock the gas meter to determine the time for one complete revolution of the cubic foot dial

Enter the time in seconds for one complete revolution

Enter the number of cubic feet of gas consumed per hour

Enter the calorific value of the gas (BTU per cubic foot)

Connect a manometer to the outlet tap at the gas valve before adjusting the pressure regulator

Record the initial manifold pressure in inches of water column

Adjust the pressure regulator on the gas valve

Record the final manifold pressure in inches of water column

Is the final manifold pressure within the acceptable range?
