- Inspect the Electrical Contactor

Z-30N, 2-33, Z-34, Z-40 and Z-45 models:

1. Remove the drive chassis cover from the non-steer end of the machine and locate the electrical contactors)

2. Locate the electrical contactor mounted on the fuse bracket

Visually inspect the contact points of the contactor for the following items:

- Oil, coolant, fuel, exhaust and vacuum

hoses - check for leaks, damage or deterioration

- Electrical wiring - check for chafing or damage

- Cylinder head bolts - torque (40.5 ft-lbs / 55 Nm)

WARNING! Bodily injury hazard. An over-inflated tire can explode and could cause death or serious injury

WARNING! Tip-over hazard. Do not use temporary flat tire repair products

Note: The tires on some machines are foam-filled or solid rubber and do not need air added to them

Check all tire treads and sidewalls for cuts, cracks, punctures and unusual wear

Check each wheel for damage, bends and cracked welds

Check each lug nut for proper torque. Refer to Specifications, Machine Specifications

Check the pressure in each air-filled tire

Sign off on the tire inspection

Test the Alarm Package (if equipped). Note: The alarms and beacon will operate with the engine running or not running.

Turn the key switch to ground control and pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the on position at both ground and platform controls. Did the alarm sound twice and the flashing beacon turn on and flash for Z-80/60, S-80 XC, S-85 XC, S-100, S-105, S-120, S-125, S-100HD, S-120HD, SX-105 XC, SX-125 XC, SX-135 XC, SX-150, SX-180, Z-135/70 and ZX-135/70 Models?

Turn the key switch to ground control and pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the on position at both ground and platform controls. Did the flashing beacon turn on and flash for all other models?

Activate the boom down function, hold for a moment and then release it. Did the descent alarm sound when the down function is activated for Primary, Secondary and Jib Booms?

Turn the key switch to platform controls. Did the flashing beacon turn on and flash?

Press down the foot switch. Activate the boom down function, hold for a moment and then release it. Did the descent alarm sound when the down function is activated for Primary, Secondary and Jib Booms?

Press down the foot switch. Move the drive control handle off center, hold for a moment and then release it. Move the drive control handle off center in the opposite direction, hold for a moment and then release it. Did the travel alarm sound when the drive control handle is moved off center in either direction?

Sign off on the alarm package test

Check oil, fuel, and coolant systems for leaks

Clean/replace air cleaner element
