String Holder Replacement
WARNING: Do not perform maintenance on machinery unless electrical power and air are disconnected, locked out or cannot be turned on by any person other than the individual performing the maintenance.
Disconnect the power at the power switch and remove the power cord.
Remove the screws that secure the table to the machine and remove the table.
Count the exposed threads on the spring tension bolt, typically 4 -5 threads are exposed.
Release the tension on the string holder return spring by loosening the adjustment nut.
Unhook the spring from the string holder.
Remove the two bolts which mount the string holder mounting bracket to the main frame casting.
Remove the bracket.
Remove the string holder and replace with new one.
String Holder Plate Replacement
WARNING: Do not perform maintenance on machinery unless electrical power and air are disconnected, locked out or cannot be turned on by any person other than the individual performing the maintenance.
Disconnect the power at the power switch and remove the power cord.
Remove the screws that secure the table to the machine and remove the table.

Remove the two socket head cap screws which mount the string holder plates to the string holder frame.
2 Weekly Heavy Duty Lubrication
Refer to the lubrication photos for lubrication points for oil and grease. Most, but not all, of the lubrication points are highlighted on the machine with white paint. Lubricate the machine as presented in the Lubrication Schedule.
Oil Lubrication Points
The following locations are lubricated with 2 - 3 drops of Felins lubricating oil (Part No. 300A03024):
• Oil hole for main shaft at base of column - Figure 23
• Oil hole for main shaft in shaft support - Figure 24
• Oil hole for stripper pivot - Figure 25
• Oil hole for tucker pivot - Figure 25
• Oil hole in cam follower roller - Figure 26
• Base of knotter at top of main frame - Figure 27
Table Removal

Caution: If the machine is equipped with an Autoactivation switch, ensure it is not damaged during the table removal process.
Notice: Each cycle of the tying machine produces a small piece of material, commonly referred to as a 'tail'. A build-up of the tails should be prevented as an excess amount may cause damage to the tying mechanism. Periodically remove tails to prevent build up.
