Roll Paper Feeder Cleaning
Warning: Ensure the printer is turned off and unplugged before starting the cleaning process.
Ink smears present when printing on roll paper or cut sheets?

Select the roll paper setting
Press and hold Forward until there are no ink smears on the ejected roll paper.
Ink smears removed?
Confirm the roll paper has been cut.

Ink and Maintenance Box Status Check
Check Ink and Maintenance Box Status
Your product and its software will let you know when an ink cartridge or ink supply unit (ink pack) is low or expended, or when a maintenance box needs to be replaced.
Checking Ink and Maintenance Box Status on the LCD Screen
You can check the status of the ink cartridges or ink packs and maintenance boxes from the product control panel. If the caution icon appears on an ink color or a maintenance box, you need to replace it soon.
1. Press the home button, if necessary.
2. Check the ink color icons at the bottom of the home screen.

1 Monthly Printer Cleaning
Warning: Do not use volatile chemicals, such as alcohol or paint thinners, to clean the product.
All paper removed from the product?
Product turned off and unplugged from the electrical outlet?
Exterior of the product cleaned with a soft, clean cloth?
Note: For stubborn dirt, dampen the cloth with water mixed with a small amount of neutral detergent. Wring it out before using it to wipe the product's surface.
Product dried with a soft, lint-free cloth?
Sign off on the printer cleaning
Print Head Nozzle Check
Print Head Nozzle Check: Check for clogged nozzles before each print job or if you have not used the printer for an extended period of time. Inspect the printed check pattern and clean the print head if you notice faint or missing areas.
Checking the Nozzles Using the Product Control Panel
You can check the print head nozzles using the control panel on your product.
1. Make sure roll paper or cut sheet paper is loaded in the printer.
2. Make sure the correct paper type is selected.
3. Select Maintenance > Print Head Nozzle Check.
4. Select Start.
The nozzle check pattern prints.
5. Check the printed pattern to see if there are gaps in the lines.
Cutter Replacement
Warning: Store the replacement cutter out of the reach of children. Do not remove the protective material from the new cutter until instructed to do so. Do not drop the cutter or knock it against anything or you may chip the blade.
Remove all paper from the printer
Select the Menu icon
Select Maintenance > Replace Auto cutter blade > Start
Open the maintenance cover
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen the screw holding the cutter in place and carefully remove the cutter. Place the cutter in a plastic bag and dispose of it properly
Warning: Keep the cutter out of the reach of children. The blade is sharp and can cause injury.
Install the new cutter in the product with the protective material still attached
Tighten the cutter screw securely
