Evaporator Fan RPM Adjustment
Preparation
Open disconnect switch
Disconnect thermostat wires from terminals Y and W
Place a jumper wire across terminals R and G at TB1 terminal block
RPM Verification
Measure the actual RPM using a tachometer or strobe light
Is the RPM within the specified range in Appendices A and B?
Adjustment for Gas Heat Units
Is the air temperature rise within the range stated on the Data Plate?
Drain Pan Cleaning
Preparation
Turn off the air conditioning unit
Gather cleaning materials (brush, cloth, cleaning solution)
Cleaning Process
Remove any visible debris from the drain pan
Scrub the drain pan with a brush and cleaning solution
Rinse the drain pan thoroughly with clean water
Post-Cleaning Inspection
Is the drain pan free of algae and fungus?
Motor Sheave Adjustment
BELT DRIVE MODELS ONLY
Initial Setup
Ensure the drive on the supply fan is set in the middle of the RPM range
Adjust the drive motor sheave pitch diameter for required airflow
Airflow Balancing
Complete the air flow balancing using the variable pitched motor sheave
Post-Balancing Adjustment
Replace the variable pitched motor sheave with a properly-sized fixed sheave
Ensure the fixed sheave is matching to provide longer belt and bearing life and vibration-free operation
Motor Sheave Adjustment
VL & VM Sheaves Adjustment
Loosen set screw 'B' using a 5/32" Allen key.
Adjust sheave pitch diameter for desired speed (half or full turns from closed position).
Tighten set screw 'B' securely over flat.
Belt Installation and Tension Adjustment
Carefully put on belts and adjust belt tension.
Ensure all keys are in place and the set screws tight before starting drive.
Post-Adjustment Checks
Recheck set screws and belt tension after 24 hours of service.
Refrigeration System Check
Compressor Inspection
Ensure hold-down bolts on the compressor are secure
Check that vibration grommets have been installed
Piping Inspection
Visually check all piping for damage
Check all piping for leaks and repair if necessary
Refrigerant Charge Verification
Record factory refrigerant charge from unit’s nameplate
Is the refrigerant charge level correct according to the nameplate?
