Close the manual gas valve external to the unit

Turn off the electrical power supply to the unit

Set the room thermostat to its lowest possible setting

Remove the heat exchanger door on the side of the unit by removing screws

Move the gas control valve switch to the OFF position

Wait five minutes to clear out any gas

Ensure the cabinet surface is clean and dry

Apply a fine grade automotive wax to the cabinet finish

Is the wax applied evenly across the surface?

Does the cabinet finish have a high luster?

Check for any areas that may need additional waxing

Clean evaporator and condenser coils

Align or replace belts as needed

Check compressor RLA against Appendix B values

Is the RLA draw significantly lower than Appendix B values?

Is the RLA draw slightly exceeding Appendix B values?

Record evaporator fan ampere draw

Is the motor nameplate amps exceeded?

Record final amp draw after air balancing

Refer to Appendix C for air balancing details
