Is the valve closest to the valve stem leaking?

If yes, back seat the three-way valve all the way, closing the port to the leaking pressure relief valve.

Was the faulty relief valve removed and replaced?

Is the relief valve farthest from the valve stem leaking?

If yes, front seat the three-way valve and replace the relief valve.

The refrigerant must be pumped down into the condenser before the evaporator relief valve can be removed.

Was the refrigerant pumped down into the condenser?

Warning: Only fully qualified technicians must attempt service.

Power factory correction capacitors disconnected?

Terminal Check (Infrared temperature measurement)

Motor Cooling Filter Drier Pressure Drop

Enter the pressure drop reading

Test operation of Pump Interlocks

Test operation of Guardistor and Surgeguard

Test operation of High and Low Pressure Cutouts

Test operation of Oil Pump Pressure Differential Cutout

Test operation of Oil Pump Time Delay

At least once a quarter, all equipment protection controls except compressor overloads should be made to operate and their operating points checked.

Check if pump interlocks and flow switches interrupt the control circuit when tripped.

Inspect and clean the contactors in the motor starter

1) Re-sample after 500 hours of unit operation.

a) If content increases less than 10%, change oil and oil filter and re-sample at normal interval (usually annual).

b) If content increases between 11% and 24%, change oil and oil filter and re-sample after an additional 500 hours of operation.

c) If content increases more than 25%, inspect compressor for cause.

2) Re-sample after 500 hours of unit operation.

a) If content increases less than 10%, change filter-drier and re-sample at normal interval (usually annual).

b) If content increases between 11% and 24%, change filter-drier and re-sample after an additional 500 hours of operation.

c) If content increases more than 25%, monitor for a water leak.

Is the chiller subject to freezing temperatures?

If yes, drain the condenser and chiller of all water.

Use dry air to force all water out of the condenser.

Blow out the tubes of the condenser and evaporator.

Circulate antifreeze through the water circuits to avoid freeze up.

Have measures been taken to prevent the shutoff valve in the water supply line from being accidentally turned on?

If a cooling tower is used, has the water pump been exposed to freezing temperatures?
