Coolant lines and radiator hoses checked for leaks, wear and cracks

Make sure the generator set is shut down and disabled

Check all systems before resetting the fault.

Replace engine oil and filters.

Before changing the oil, the generator set should be operated until the water temperature is approximately 60 C (140 °F).

Make sure the generator set is shut down and disabled.

Press the generator set's 'O' (Off) button to stop the generator set. Allow the generator set to thoroughly cool to the touch.

If applicable, turn off and disconnect the battery charger from the AC source before disconnecting the battery cables.

Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery and secure it from contacting the battery terminals to prevent accidental starting.

Drain the oil. Place the end of the drain hose into an appropriate container.

Replace spark plugs and spark plug wires.

Check valve lash and adjust if required. See the Valve Clearance Adjustment procedure (service manual only).

Check fan drive idler arm and fan belt tensioner for general condition, as well as for excessive play in both.

Replace cooling system coolant. Check coolant sensor for damage and debris.

Sign off on the maintenance procedure

Warning: Holes, loose-end seals, dented sealing surfaces, corrosion of pipes, and other forms of damage render the air cleaner inoperative and require immediate element replacement or engine damage can occur.

Notice: Cummins Inc. does not recommend cleaning paper-type air cleaner elements.

Check for any debris accumulated around the air cleaner connection to the engine.

Upload a photo of the dirty air cleaner before removal.

Was the dirty air cleaner removed successfully?

Dispose of the dirty element in accordance with local environmental agency requirements.

Upload a photo of the replacement air cleaner before installation.

Was the replacement air cleaner installed successfully?

Enter the torque applied to the strap clamp (in Nm).
