Dry Insulation Testing
Preparation
Disconnect the cables from the X+ (F1) and XX- (F2) terminals of the AVR
Is the excitation voltage supply to the exciter stator disconnected?
Drying Process
Run the generator set in a de-excited state
Is air flowing freely through the alternator?
Is the anti-condensation heater operating?
Direct hot air from 1 to 3 kW electrical fan heaters into the alternator air inlet
Ensure each heat source is at least 300mm away from the windings

30000 Hourly Bearings Replacement
Remove Non-Drive End
Turn off the anti-condensation heater (if fitted) and isolate from supply.
Remove the PMG cover.
Remove the lower air inlet cover.
Remove the terminal box lid and side panel (left hand, viewed from NDE).
Unplug the PMG control cable.
Disconnect the grease pipe (if fitted) from the bearing cartridge and the NDE bracket.
Disconnect the heater.
Use a 10 mm open spanner to disconnect the RTD sensor for bearing temperature (if fitted) from the bearing.
