Test Set-up - Delivered Dose Uniformity (DDU) of DPIs

Enter the desired pressure drop for the inhaler (e.g. 4.0 kPa)

Replace the inhaler with a suitable flow meter (unless inline method used)

Check for critical (sonic) flow conditions (P3/P2>0.5)

Is the flow rate required to generate the pressure drop more than 100 L/min?

Re-adjust the control valve back to 100 L/min if necessary

Test Set-up - Aerodynamic Particle Size Distribution (APSD) of DPIs

Connect a suitable flow meter to the inlet of the impactor and turn on the vacuum pump

Ensure all equipment is connected properly

Is the BAC 2100/-R unit powered on?

Conventional Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs) Testing

Set the air volume to 2 litres for DDU testing

Is the MDI Actuation Sensor connected to the BAC 2100?

Select the triggering method for operation

Set the flow rate for Breath-Actuated MDIs

Ensure all necessary equipment is available

Remove the mouthpiece adapter and device under test from the induction port

Connect the flow meter to the induction port using a suitable adapter

Measure the flow rate at the inlet of the impactor

Is the flow rate within +/- 5% of the target flow?
