Turn off the electrical power to the valve

Close the upstream manual gas valve

Avoid any type of sparking or ignition

Vent hazardous or combustible fumes to a safe area

Is the voltage to the coil correct?

Turn off the heater before servicing the filters

Remove the filters from the filter section

Handle the filters carefully to prevent debris from being dislodged into the heater

Enter the current pressure drop across the filters

Is the pressure drop more than 4 times the initial clean value?

Use a Browning Belt Tension Checker to measure belt tension

Use a straight edge to ensure proper alignment of the belt

Record the measured belt tension values

Is the belt tension within the recommended range?

Adjust the belt tension if necessary

Describe any adjustments made to the belt tension

Apply the grease to the motor bearings

Ensure all tools and materials are removed from the work area

Turn the disconnect switch back on

Turn the heater disconnect switch off

Close the manual gas supply shut-off valve

Loosen the union in the gas train

Disconnect the ignition cable from the burner

Remove the flame rod and the igniter

Examine the flame rod ceramic for cracks and replace if necessary
