Remove the bonnet screws, valve bonnet, bonnet gasket, core/diaphragm sub-assembly and body gasket

Lubricate the bonnet gasket and body gasket with Dow Corning® 200 Fluid lubricant or equivalent

Apply RemGrit TFL 50® Dry Lubricant to valve seat, valve body surface, and internal surface of valve bonnet

Lubricate diaphragm assembly, main disc, and pilot disc with RemGrit TFL 50® Dry Lubricant if not using Rebuild Kit

Remove distribution header and clean out distribution holes that supply water flow to media pads

Inspect all wire connections for discolored and/or burned wires. Replace where necessary

Inspect media pads and replace per manufacturer’s recommendations

Follow ‘Initial Start Up’ procedures

Turn the heater disconnect switch off

Close the manual gas supply shut-off valve

Loosen the union in the gas train

Disconnect the ignition cable from the burner

Remove the flame rod and the igniter

Examine the flame rod ceramic for cracks and replace if necessary

Close the upstream manual gas valve

Avoid any type of sparking or ignition

Vent hazardous or combustible fumes to a safe area

Check if the voltage to the coil is correct

Remove the filters from the rainhood or filter section

Handle filters carefully to prevent debris from being dislodged

Clean using a stream of water or soap and water
