Ensure pressure testing is performed by authorized personnel.

Is a qualified third-party contractor engaged if internal personnel are unavailable?

Perform hydrostatic leakage test after maintenance involving plates or gaskets.

Is one media side tested at a time with the other side open to ambient pressure?

For multi-pass units, are all sections of the same side tested simultaneously?

Enter the test duration for each media side (in minutes).

Check warranty conditions before opening the heat exchanger.

Is the heat exchanger cooled down to about 40°C (104°F)?

Ensure proper protective equipment is worn

Bolt Configuration Identification

Close the valves and isolate the heat exchanger from the system.

Record all maintenance activities

Clean plates regularly depending on media type and temperature

Regasket the heat exchanger after long periods of use if required

Keep the carrying bar and guiding bar clean and greased

Keep tightening bolts clean and greased

Check that all tightening bolts are firmly tightened

Verify that dimension A is correct according to the PHE drawing

Ensure proper protective equipment is worn

Verify that cleaning agents are handled safely

Contact Alfa Laval sales representative for correct CIP equipment size

Is the CIP equipment ready for use?

Select cleaning liquids to be used

Follow the instructions of the CIP equipment

Is the storage room temperature between 15 and 20°C (60–70°F)?

Is the humidity level up to 70%?

Ensure no ozone-producing equipment is present (e.g., electric motors, welding equipment).

Confirm no organic solvents or acids are stored in the room.

Avoid direct sunlight, intensive heat radiation, or ultraviolet exposure.

Inspect stored heat exchanger every three months.

Restore packing to original condition after inspection.
