1 Daily Separator Cleaning
Warning: Follow local regulations for disposal of residue.
Separator/desiccator is set as a separator (desiccator bag not installed)?
If desiccator bag is installed, remove it before proceeding.
Water separator water drain opened?
Collect the discharge into a container.
Water separator water drain closed after flow stops?
Describe the appearance of the residue.

Degreaser Inspection
Warning: This inspection requires trained personnel with PPE!
Check for loosening of plumbing connections
Check for leaks in solvent systems
Check for dampness or cold spots caused by evaporative cooling
Choose the method used for leak detection
Note any issues found during the inspection

Filter Maintenance
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Is the recirculation flow reduced?
Is the bag 1/3 full of soil?
Is the fabric damaged?
Are the pores clogged with waxes?
If any of the above is 'YES', proceed with the cleaning procedure
Turn off 'Recirculation'
Close both the supply and return recirculation ball valves
Unfasten and remove the canister cover clamp
Dessicant Replacement
Desiccant is used with solvents containing alcohol or other additives that are soluble in water.
Consult the solvent manufacturer to determine if your solvent requires desiccant.
Desiccant must be tested routinely and changed when necessary. It may be regenerated and reused; check with the desiccant manufacturer for regeneration instructions.
5.5.1 Testing Frequency
The rate of desiccant exhaustion is determined by the amount of water introduced by the parts, the ambient humidity and the temperature of the condensing and cold trap coils.
Note: For maximum solvent and equipment life, do not allow the desiccant to become fully loaded with water. Change the desiccant before the desiccant test shows positive. Use the following guidelines to determine testing frequency for your local conditions. The guidelines also detail how to obtain the maximum life from the desiccant.
• Each working shift, test the solvent leaving the water separator until you can establish a baseline. For example: After testing the desiccant twice per shift and changing the desiccant three times, you may determine that the SHORTEST desiccant life is four days and the LONGEST desiccant life is six days.
• Revise your testing schedule. Continuing the example above: Test on the third day and then daily until the desiccant needs to be changed.
• If you observe free water in the desiccant chamber, then change the desiccant regardless of the test results.
Degreaser Cleaning
Boil Down
Is the CONTAMINATION WARNING Indicator lighted but the degreaser has not shut down on B/S TEMP FAULT?
Remove 2-3 inches of solvent from the ultrasonic sump.
Is the ultrasonic sump heater exposed?
Turn on the heat.
Is the solvent starting to overflow into the boil sump?
Has the degreaser shut down on B/S TEMP FAULT or B/S LEVEL FAULT?
Drain the solvent from the boil sump.
Refill the degreaser using the solvent removed in the first step. Add solvent as required.
