Instructions for Repairing Mechanical Seal
Follow steps 1 through 4 of section titled 'REMOVAL OF PUMP FROM EXISTING SYSTEM FOR REPLACEMENT.'
Loosen and remove the four capscrews holding the motor housing to the pump body.
Remove the housing from the pump body.
Place the pump on a flat work surface.
Insert a screwdriver into one of the endplate ventilation slots to engage a rotor cooling fin.
Turn the impeller clockwise to remove it from the shaft.
Remove the seal assembly from the shaft by sliding it off the shaft sleeve.
Inspect the seal seat for grooving or cracks.
