1 Daily Air Dryer Maintenance
Warning!
Before starting any maintenance or repair, press stop button (12-Fig. 1.4), wait until the dryer has stopped, press emergency stop button (5-Fig. 1.1), switch off the voltage by means of the isolating switch (customer’s installation) and depressurise the dryer.
Safeguard against unintentional 'switch-on'. Apply all relevant safety precautions, including those mentioned in this book.
While servicing the blower, do not, under any circumstances, reversely pressurise the blower, as this can lead to explosion.
Drain condensate water and oil from the prefilters.
Check that the compressed air temperature does not exceed the limits (see section 7).
Check that BD discharge pressure does not drop below minimum allowed pressure (1 bar below nominal pressure the dryer is sized for); see section 5.3.
Check that the dryer shifts towers and that the regeneration air is blown out through one of the regeneration valves during regeneration and cooling.
Sign off on the daily air dryer maintenance
Air Dryer Initial Desiccant Charging
Dryer is empty and bottom plugs or flanges are fitted
Top plugs or flanges are open for filling
Large funnel is fitted to the filling hole of one of the drying towers
Select the type of desiccant used
Correct amount of desiccant is poured into the tower
Vacuum cleaner is used to control dust escaping from the filling hole
Steps 3 and 4 are repeated for the other tower
Equal amounts of desiccant are in both towers
No mechanical or pneumatic means are used for filling
1 Monthly Air Dryer Maintenance

Check that the regenerating tower heats up.
Clean the filter of the blower inlet (optional).
1 Weekly Air Dryer Check

Check the operation of the automatic drains.
Sign off on the weekly air dryer check
16000 Hourly/2 Yearly Air Dryer Maintenance

Replace seats of regeneration discharge valves (-70°C units).
For BD260 - 1050: Grease blower bearings.
For BD1400 - 3000: Check for fan wheel vibrations.
