Psc Fan Motor Relay Contact Check
WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGE! Disconnect ALL power before servicing or installing. Multiple power sources may be present. Failure to do so may cause property damage, personal injury or death.
Motor leads disconnected from 6-circuit fan motor wire harness
Voltmeter connected between circuit 6 and circuits 3 (low speed) or 1 (high speed)
NOTE: Circuit 6 is connected directly to 24VAC.
System energized at low or high stage
WARNING: Line Voltage now present.
Measured voltage between circuit 6 and circuits 3 or 1
Voltage measurement indicates relay contacts are closed
NOTE: Ensure any ON delays have expired before making voltage measurements
Wiring Check
WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGE! Disconnect ALL power before servicing or installing. Multiple power sources may be present. Failure to do so may cause property damage, personal injury or death.
Check wiring visually for signs of overheating, damaged insulation and loose connections.
Use an ohmmeter to check continuity of any suspected open wires.
If any wires must be replaced, replace with comparable gauge and insulation thickness.

Resistance Test
WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGE! Disconnect ALL power before servicing or installing. Multiple power sources may be present. Failure to do so may cause property damage, personal injury or death.
Remove the leads from the compressor terminals. See warnings S-17 before removing compressor terminal cover.
Enter the reading for continuity between terminals S-R
Enter the reading for continuity between terminals C-R
Enter the reading for continuity between terminals C-S
Does either winding not test continuous?
NOTE: If an open compressor is indicated, allow ample time for the internal overload to reset before replacing compressor.

Restricted Liquid Line Check
Warning: This procedure should be performed by trained personnel only
Is the liquid line warm to the touch?
If the liquid line is not warm, report the issue and stop the procedure
Is there a temperature drop at any point on the liquid line?
Is there frost formation at the point of restriction?
Enter the discharge pressure
Enter the suction pressure
Is the unit showing normal to high subcooling?
If the unit is not showing normal to high subcooling, report the issue and stop the procedure
Heater Limit Control Check
WARNING: Disconnect ALL power before servicing.
Heater element protected with an automatic rest limit control
Enter the temperature at which the limit control opens its circuit
Enter the temperature at which the limit control closes its circuit
Remove the wiring from the control terminals.
Continuity across the normally closed contacts
No reading indicates the control is open - replace if necessary. Make sure the limits are cool before testing.
Control found open
IF FOUND OPEN - REPLACE - DO NOT WIRE AROUND.
