Ensure black iron pipe is installed at the gas valve and extends outside the furnace cabinet if a flexible gas connector is required or allowed.

Verify that the flexible connector is properly installed between the black iron pipe and the gas supply line.

Measure the torque applied when attaching the gas piping to the gas valve.

Measure the pressure drop between the gas meter and the unit.

Is the supply gas pipe size equal to or larger than the unit gas connection?

Wiring and Circuit Breaker Caution

Check all wiring for loose connections

Measure the voltage at the furnace while operating

Is the voltage within the correct range of 120VAC ± 10%?

Check amp-draw on the blower motor using a true RMS meter

Record the unit nameplate amp-draw

Record the actual amp-draw measured

Prepare a shallow pan to empty condensate water

Remove the clean out cap from the condensate trap

Empty water from the condensate trap into the shallow pan

Reinstall the clean out cap on the condensate trap

Is the area around the furnace clean and dry?

Check the following for tightness and blockages

Has there been a recent heavy snow, ice, or frozen fog event?

Inspect the vent system for snow or ice obstructions

Ensure furnace has been operating for at least 5 minutes

Shut off all other gas appliances connected to the meter

Record time in seconds for two revolutions of gas through the meter

Divide the recorded time by two to get the average time per revolution

Is the average time per revolution matching the time in Table 16?

Does the manifold pressure match Table 18?
