Ensure black iron pipe is installed at the gas valve and extends outside the furnace cabinet if a flexible gas connector is required or allowed.

Verify that the flexible connector is properly installed between the black iron pipe and the gas supply line.

Measure the torque applied when attaching the gas piping to the gas valve.

Measure the pressure drop between the gas meter and the unit.

Is the supply gas pipe size equal to or larger than the unit gas connection?

Turn off electrical and gas power supplies to furnace

Remove upper and lower furnace access panels

Disconnect the wires from the gas valve

Remove the burner box cover (if equipped)

Disconnect the gas supply line from the gas valve

Remove gas valve/manifold assembly

Mark and disconnect sensor wire from the sensor

Preliminary and Seasonal Checks

Inspect electrical wiring for loose connections and tighten as required.

Check voltage at disconnect switch.

Is the voltage within the range listed on the nameplate?

Inspect condition of condensate traps and drain assembly.

Disassemble and clean condensate traps and drain assembly seasonally.

Turn off electrical and gas supplies to the furnace.

Remove the furnace access panels.

Disconnect the 2 wires from the gas valve.

Remove gas supply line connected to gas valve and remove gas valve/manifold assembly.

Remove sensor wire from sensor and disconnect 2-pin plug from the ignitor.

Disconnect wires from flame roll-out switches.

Disconnect combustion air intake pipe.

Ensure furnace has been operating for at least 5 minutes

Shut off all other gas appliances connected to the meter

Record time in seconds for two revolutions of gas through the meter

Divide the recorded time by two to get the average time per revolution

Is the average time per revolution matching the time in Table 16?

Does the manifold pressure match Table 18?
