Preliminary and Seasonal Checks

Inspect electrical wiring for loose connections and tighten as required.

Check voltage at disconnect switch.

Is the voltage within the range listed on the nameplate?

Inspect condition of condensate traps and drain assembly.

Disassemble and clean condensate traps and drain assembly seasonally.

Ensure main shut-off valve is labeled and accessible

Ensure main power to unit can be disconnected

Disconnect and isolate the gas valve

Ensure pressure does not exceed 0.5 psig (14" W.C.)

Use a specialty Gas Leak Detector to check piping connections for leaks

Turn off electrical and gas supplies to the furnace.

Remove the furnace access panels.

Disconnect the 2 wires from the gas valve.

Remove gas supply line connected to gas valve and burner box cover.

Remove sensor wire from sensor and disconnect 2-pin plug from the ignitor.

Disconnect wires from flame roll-out switches.

Disconnect combustion air intake pipe.

Filter Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect all air filters for cleanliness and damage

Is cleaning or replacement of any filter necessary?

Clean or replace filters as necessary

High-Efficiency Filter Considerations

Is a high-efficiency filter installed?

Measure the static pressure drop across the high-efficiency filter

Is the static pressure drop within acceptable limits?

Turn off electrical and gas power supplies to furnace

Remove upper and lower furnace access panels

Disconnect the wires from the gas valve

Remove the burner box cover (if equipped)

Disconnect the gas supply line from the gas valve

Remove gas valve/manifold assembly

Mark and disconnect sensor wire from the sensor
