Disconnect electric power to the tumble dryer before servicing.

Close gas shut-off valve to gas tumble dryer before servicing.

Close steam valve to steam tumble dryer before servicing.

Ensure all guards/panels are in place before starting the tumble dryer.

Reconnect any removed ground wires to ensure proper grounding of the tumble dryer.

Check for potential issues affecting airflow switch operation

Is the airflow switch operating properly?

Inspect the area surrounding tumble dryers and remove all combustible materials, including lint.

Check cylinder for foreign objects.

Ensure the tumble dryer is not in operation before opening the lint panel.

Open the lint panel or lint drawer on stack models.

Remove all accumulated lint in the lint compartment area.

Lightly brush any lint left on the lint screen.

Is the auxiliary alarm output disconnected from the separate alarm system?

Remove any lint from the lint compartment.

Ensure temperature sensors are free of lint.

Place a load of dry towels in the tumble dryer.

Ensure cylinder baffles are positioned correctly.

Unlock the fire suppression system control box.

Press and hold the test button, verify the light is on and water sprays into the cylinder.

Gas Burner Orifice Pressure Check

Ensure all necessary parts are in place

Remove screw plug from pressure tap

Connect a “U”-tube manometer to the burner orifice pressure tap

Start tumble dryer and observe pressure once flame is burning

Record the burner orifice pressure

Is the burner orifice pressure within the specified range?

Adjust regulator screw until the correct pressure is achieved

Clean burner tubes using water and a brush

Cylinder and Rear Seal Maintenance

Use a vacuum to clean lint from area around rear seal and idler assembly

Check rear seal and idler assembly for wear

Check all hoses for visible signs of deterioration
