Replace all hoses showing signs of deterioration

Replace all hoses that are five years old or older

Is the fire suppression system operational after hose replacement?

Use a vacuum to clean air vents on drive motors

Use a vacuum to clean lint from rear limit thermostat cover

Check and clean steam coils, if applicable

Check flow of combustion and ventilation air

Check belt tension and condition

Replace worn or cracked belts, if necessary

Pre-Check Warnings and Requirements

Ensure main supplies of electricity and water to the tumble dryer are on at all times.

Verify that all plumbing connections are made by a qualified professional.

Confirm that the necessary water, water pressure, pipe size, or connections are provided.

Water Supply and Pressure Check

Record the water pressure at the water solenoid valve (must be between 20 psi [138 kPa] and 120 psi [827 kPa]).

Is the water temperature between 40°F [4.5°C] and 120°F [49°C]?

Are the temperature sensors inside the tumble dryer registering above 40°F [4.5°C]?

Disconnect electric power to the tumble dryer

Close gas shut-off valve to gas tumble dryer

Close steam valve to steam tumble dryer

Ensure all guards/panels are in place before starting the tumble dryer

Reconnect any removed ground wires to ensure proper grounding

Close door and start tumble dryer

Slowly open loading door and check if cylinder and heat system shut off when door is open 2 inches [51 mm] plus or minus 0.25 inch [6 mm]

Inspect the area surrounding tumble dryers and remove all combustible materials, including lint.

Check cylinder for foreign objects.

Open the lint panel or lint drawer (for stack models).

Remove all accumulated lint in the lint compartment area and lightly brush any remaining lint on the lint screen.

Ensure the lint screen completely covers the entire opening in the lint screen panel.

Wipe lint off of the cabinet high limit thermostat and thermistor.
