Connect a manometer to the outlet pressure port on the gas valve

Remove cover screws covering HI and LO pressure adjustment screws

Second Stage Pressure Adjustment

Set thermostat to call for second stage heat and start furnace

Enter the current manifold pressure for second stage (100% input)

Review installation for errors, leaks, or undesirable system effects

Verify blower speed changes are necessary

Calculate new datum diameter (DD)

Adjust the datum diameter (DD) of the variable pitch motor sheave

Check BHP and AMP draw of the blower motor

Confirm blower speed changes adhere to fan laws

Ensure only qualified personnel make blower speed changes

Loosen six nuts (top and bottom) A

Ensure nuts (C) are not loosened

Use belt tension checker to apply perpendicular force and achieve 4mm deflection

Record deflection force applied

Re-tighten nuts (A) after adjustment

Check belt tension during first 24 hours of operation (times checked)

Inspect the unit for visible damage during transit

Note the extent of any damage on the carrier’s freight bill

Request inspection by the carrier’s agent in writing

Is the furnace disconnected from the gas supply piping system?

Enter the pressure of the gas supply piping system

Is the pressure greater than 1/2 PSIG?

Read the safety warning carefully before proceeding

Ensure the use of special pipe dope for assembling pipes

Open the main shut-off valve to admit normal gas pressure to the mains

Check all joints for leaks using a soap solution or suitable material

Confirm no open flames are used during the leak test

Record any detected leaks and their locations

Ensure all safety warnings are followed to prevent fire or explosion hazards
