Xtralis Aspirating Smoke Detector VESDA-E VES-A10-P

Ensure ESD precautions are taken

Connect wrist strap to the case of the detector

Open the front door and remove the front fascia

Take the top cover off by pressing the tabs down and pushing the cover from inside the detector

Remove the Aspirator as described in Section 7.5

Remove the Sampling Module as described in Section 7.7

Remove Smoke Detection Chamber as described in Section 7.6

Inform the appropriate supervising authority

Ensure that any ancillary devices dependent on the detector are isolated before work commences

Open the front door and ensure the area around the filter is free of lint and dust

Press on release mechanism in the direction arrowed

Tilt the filter towards the left-hand side of the detector

Lift the filter out of the detector case

Connect a wrist strap to the case of the detector

Remove the Smoke Detection Chamber

Turn off the 24V DC power to the detector

Remove the four screws holding the chamber to the detector base

Disconnect the chamber loom from the connector labeled J3

Remove the chamber from the detector base

Install the Replacement Smoke Detection Chamber

Inform the appropriate supervising authority

Ensure ancillary devices dependent on the detector are isolated

Check that all the parts are in place

Inspect pipes for any visible damage or wear

Measure the pressure in the pipes

Is the pressure within the normal range?

Inform the appropriate supervising authority

Ensure that any ancillary devices dependent on the detector are isolated before work commences

Check that all the parts are in place

Enter the voltage reading of the power supply

Enter the voltage reading of the battery

Is the voltage within the normal range for both power supply and battery?
