Select the appropriate lubricating oil based on operating conditions

Measure the operating temperature of the bearing

Determine the required oil viscosity based on operating temperature and bearing type

Calculate the quantity of oil required for one bearing using formula (11.2)

Adjust the calculated oil quantity by multiplying with a factor of 1.5 or 2.0

Is the adjusted oil quantity suitable for actual operating conditions?

Select the type of lubricant to be used

Is the selected lubricant of good quality and reliable?

Inspect the sealing system for effectiveness in preventing intrusion of damaging elements

Check if the sealing system effectively removes dust and impurities from the lubricant

Ensure the sealing system prevents lubricant leakage

Measure the oil volume in the bearing

Grease the bearings following the manufacturer's instructions

Ensure bearings are not over greased

Visually inspect the condition of the motor

Listen for unusual noises from the motor

Is the air intake grill clean and unobstructed?

Wear proper gloves when handling blades

Ensure all rotor blades are removed first

Turn rotor to a comfortable and safe position for socket use

Remove all blade adjusting screws over the top Blade Block

Break loose all bolts holding the blades

Hold each blade from the bottom and remove bolts one at a time

Place each blade in a safe place after removal

Visual inspection of the granulator

Check for loose items and tighten as necessary

Power disconnection and lock-out

Inspect cutting chamber and rotor for unusual wear
