Warning: Ensure the power is turned off and the compressed air supply is shut off before starting the procedure.

Compressed air supply shut off?

Turn the case assembly (1) 45 degrees while pressing the lock button down.

Case assembly turned 45 degrees?

Loosen the baffle (2). The element (3) can be taken out of the case assembly.

Baffle loosened and element taken out?

Wash the element (3) using neutral detergent.

Element washed with neutral detergent?

Is the tank ready for cleaning?

If tank is not ready for cleaning, report the issues to the maintenance team and stop the procedure

Was the inside of the tank cleaned?

Was the filter cleaned or replaced?

Was washing oil used to clean the filter?

Was compressed air applied to the filter?

Was a thinner-based fluid used to clean the filter?

Sign off on the tank maintenance

Air filter element visually inspected?

If the air filter element is clogged, proceed to clean it.

If the air filter element is heavily clogged or contaminated, or if the air cylinder fails to operate correctly due to loss of pressure, replace the filter element.

Sign off on the air filter element maintenance

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Enter the internal pressure inside the case

Is the valve 2 closing the slot in the chamber 3?

Is the piston 4 forced down due to spring 5 force?

Is the foreign matter entering the drain housing through the slot 3 in the chamber?

When pressure is applied, does the piston 4 move up, overcoming the spring 5 force, to come into contact with the O-ring 6, enclosing the inside of case 7?

When foreign matter accumulates inside the case, does the float 1 rise from buoyancy to open the slot in the chamber 3?

CAUTION: The compressed air must be clean and dry. Contaminated or humid air will extremely shorten the service life of air-operated component parts.

Check the air pressure with the FRL unit air regulator pressure gage.

If the pressure gage indication is not the specified value, adjust the source pressure to 0.5 MPa (71.1 psi).

Check the tool unclamp unit charge tank pressure regulator.

If the charge tank pressure is lower than 0.2 MPa (28.44 psi), the collet will fail to open fully and the tool cannot be unclamped completely. If the pressure is higher than 0.2 MPa (28.44 psi), the tool unclamp cylinder will fail to return to the clamp end position and the tool cannot be clamped completely.

The air supply volume must be greater than the specified value [100 L/min (26.4 gpm) (ANR*) for the standard specification machine]. A 1 HP compressor provides approximately 90 L/min (23.76 gpm) (ANR*).

NOTE: *: ANR refers to a standard atmospheric state; i.e., temperature at 20C (68°F), absolute pressure at 101.3 kPa {760 mmHg), and relative humidity at 65%.
