1 Daily Coolant Maintenance
!CAUTION: When replenishing coolant to the coolant tank, use a rust preventive coolant. Otherwise, corrosion may occur and cause malfunction of the machine.
1. Checking the coolant level
Check if coolant is stored in the coolant tank to the specified level before starting the day’s operation. If the volume of the coolant supplied from the nozzle becomes low, check the coolant level in the coolant tank if the coolant level is lower than the allowable lower limit.
2. Supplying coolant
(1) Pull out the coolant tank.
(2) Supplying coolant
Replenish the coolant that has been arranged to the appropriate density beforehand so that the suction port is completely immersed in the coolant.
* Recommended coolant: SOLVAC 1535G (Mobil) / TRIMSOL (Master Chemical) / HYSOL (Castrol)
3. Discharging coolant
1 Daily Filter Cleaning
The filter separates the pump chamber from the coolant tank. It can be removed easily for cleaning.
Clean the filter using an air gun.
Remove chips from the coolant tank every day after completing the day’s work.
Is the filter very much clogged with dirt?
If the filter is very much clogged with dirt, replace the filter. (When ordering a replacement filter from Mazak Technical Center or Technology Center, refer to the Parts List and specify the part number.)

1 Daily Lubrication Unit Of The Slideway Section Maintenance
1. Inspecting the lubrication unit of the slideway section
A. Inspecting the lubricating oil amount
Before starting the machine every day, check that the lubricating oil reserve tank is filled with the specified lubricating oil to the specified level.
If the oil level is lower than the center of the upper/lower level line of the level gauge at the tank side, supply the same brand of lubricating oil from the oil filter port on the upper part of the lubrication unit so that the oil level do not exceed the upper limit level line.
B. Cleaning and changing the filter
The suction filter in the automatic intermittent lubricating pump can be removed by taking off the screws of the upper part of the pump. The filter on the oil filler port can be removed in the same manner. Clean the filters once in a year.
C. Checking lubricating status
Before starting the day’s operation, check every lubricating status of the lubricating parts. Shortage of oil in the lubricating parts causes clogging of the flow unit and oil leakage from the piping route.
Entry of foreign particles like chips into the flow unit causes clogging and malfunction of the flow unit. In such a case, replace the flow unit.
1 Daily Machine Inspection
1. General: Arranging the machine periphery in order, cleaning the machine and its periphery (especially, the floor).
2. Headstock:
- Checking the chuck unit and its periphery for chips.
- Checking for secure mounting of the top jaws.
- Checking for smooth chucking/unchucking.
- Greasing the chuck unit
3. Tailstock:
- Checking the tailstock spindle for chips.
- Checking the tailstock body and tailstock spindle for smooth forward/backward movement
1 Monthly Machine Inspection
1. Headstock:
- Removing any chips from the coolant collector.
2. Secondary headstock and W-axis:
- Cleaning the cooling fan filter.
3. Headstock cooling unit:
- Cleaning the radiator.
4. Coolant unit:
