Refrigeration Unit Maintenance
Vacuuming Procedure
Release the nitrogen pressure
Connect the vacuum pump to the charging manifold
Start the vacuum pump and open the charging manifold valves
Monitor the vacuum gauge until it remains at less than 500 microns for at least 1 minute with the vacuum pump valve closed
Close the charging manifold valves
Shut off and disconnect the vacuum pump
Charging Procedure
Place a refrigerant tank with the proper refrigerant on a scale and connect it to the charging manifold
Heat Exchangers Maintenance
Initial Assessment
Is there a performance degradation not explained by a refrigeration circuit problem or low loop flow rate?
Loop Disconnection and Flushing
Disconnect the affected loop.
Flush heat exchanger with a lime removing solution.
System Type Consideration
Select the system type
Is the system performance reduced for warm water open loop systems?
Compressor Maintenance
Pumpdown Procedure
Place the unit in SERVICE mode via the PC App or LCD interface
Ensure electrical power is not turned off at the breaker panel
Connect the refrigerant recovery unit to the heat pump’s internal service ports via a refrigeration charging manifold and to a recovery tank
Plan to dispose of refrigerant if there was a compressor burnout
Ensure refrigerant to water heat exchangers have full flow or are completely drained
Start circulation pumps via building control system if necessary
Ensure all hose connections are properly purged of air
Start the refrigerant recovery as per the instructions in the recovery unit manual
Compressor Replacement
Pump down the unit
Was there a compressor burnout?
Disconnect piping and remove crankcase heater
Replace the compressor and liquid line filter-dryer
Ensure nitrogen is flowing during brazing procedures
Vacuum the unit
If there was a compressor burnout, charge the unit with new refrigerant and operate for 2 hours
Charge the unit with new refrigerant
Operate the unit continuously for 2 hours
Control Board Replacement
Turn the power off to the unit
Take a picture of the control board and connectors for reference
Remove all green terminal strips from the left side, right side, and bottom of the control board
Remove the red six pin display board connector from the left side of the control board
Remove all connectors from the top of the control board
Detach the control board from its four corner standoffs
Remove any remaining standoffs from the old control board
Remove the new control board from the static bag and place old standoffs on it
Align and snap the new control board into the four corner standoffs in the electrical box
