Coaxial Heat Exchanger Maintenance
Coaxial Heat Exchanger Flushing Procedure - Open Loop
Isolation and Initial Setup
Isolate the heat exchanger by closing the valves in the IN and OUT ports to the heat exchanger.
Blow out the heat exchanger into a clean 5 gallon bucket using compressed air.
Makeshift Pump System Setup
Is a purge cart available?
If a purge cart is not available, use a 5 gallon plastic bucket, a circulator and some plastic piping to create a makeshift pump system. Connect the inlet and outlet to the heat exchanger ports.
Flushing with RYDLYME
Place 2 gallons of RYDLYME or similar in the purge cart (or bucket).

Inspection
Inspect for pitted points on the contactor
Inspect for burned points on the contactor
Replacement
Is replacement of contactor necessary?
Replace contactor if necessary

Clean the work area

Control Board Replacement
Turn the power off to the unit
Take a picture of the control board and connectors for reference
Remove all green terminal strips on the left side, the right side and the bottom of the control board
Remove the red six pin display board connector from the left side of the control board
Remove all connectors from the top of the control board
Remove the control board from its four corner standoffs
Remove any remaining standoffs if present
Carefully remove the new control board from the static bag
Place any cut off standoffs from the old board into the same locations on the new board

Is the heat pump problem suspected?
Alarm and Fault Check
Are alarms reported through a BACnet system?
Check for alarms and faults on the LCD Interface or PC App
Describe any alarms or faults found
Problem Rectification
Were any alarms or faults found?
Describe the rectification actions taken
LCD Interface Board Replacement
Turn the power off to the unit
Remove the display board cable connector from the control board
Slice each of the display board standoff heads off
Pull the display board from the unit
Remove the display board cable connector from the back of the display board
Place a new display board standoff into each of the four holes in the cabinet
Remove the new display board from the static bag it was shipped in
Connect one end of the display board cable to the back of the display board
Place the display board in position and align the four standoffs into the four holes of the board
