Lift the top bezel and inspect the interior of the boiler
Vacuum any sediment from inside the boiler and components
Remove any obstructions

Does the test indicate the need for system water cleaning?
Burner Flame Check
Is the flame satisfactory at high fire?
Is the flame satisfactory at low fire?
If the flame is unsatisfactory at either high fire or low fire, turn off boiler and allow boiler to cool down.
Remove the burner and clean it thoroughly using a vacuum cleaner or compressed air. Do not use compressed air to clean burner if performed inside a building.

Sign off on the burner flame check
Ignition and Flame Sense Electrode Inspection
Warning: Ensure the boiler is turned off and cooled down before starting the procedure
Ignition and flame sense electrodes removed from the boiler heat exchanger access cover
Upload a photo of the removed electrodes
Deposits removed from the ignition/flame sense electrode using sandpaper
Were the electrodes cleaned satisfactorily?
If the electrodes cannot be cleaned satisfactorily, replace with new ones
Ignition/flame sense electrode replaced
Is the gasket in good condition and correctly positioned?
Sign off on the electrode inspection
Boiler Heat Exchanger Cleaning
WARNING! The boiler contains ceramic fiber materials. Use care when handling these materials per instructions in the FTXL Service Manual. Failure to comply could result in severe personal injury.
Follow the “To Turn Off Gas to Appliance” instructions for the boiler in Section 10 - Startup.
Do not drain the boiler unless it will be exposed to freezing temperatures. If using freeze prevention fluids in the system, do not drain.
Allow time for the boiler to cool to room temperature if it has been firing.
Remove the bezel from the unit.
Remove the screw securing the fan and venturi from the fan plate and set aside.
Remove the nuts securing the fan plate and burner from the heat exchanger plate and set aside.
Loosen the heat exchanger bolts to remove the heat exchanger top plate.
Disconnect the condensate hose from the condensate trap and route to drain.
1 Monthly Vent and Fuel Piping Inspection
Warning! Failure to inspect for the above conditions and have them repaired can result in severe personal injury or death
Visually inspect the entire flue gas venting system for blockage, deterioration or leakage
Repair any joints that show signs of leakage
Verify that air inlet pipe is connected and properly sealed
Verify that boiler vent discharge and air intake are clean and free of obstructions
Sign off on the vent and fuel piping inspection
