Flange Gaskets Maintenance
Removing Flange Gaskets
Remove flange gaskets when removing the flange assembly
Carefully scrape off the flange gaskets
Ensure the flange surface has been scraped clean
Installing New Flange Gaskets
Discard the old flange gasket
Install a new flange gasket
Confirm that no old flange gaskets are reused
Packing Gland Replacement
Preparation
Has the internal pressure been relieved to zero?
Packing Gland Removal
Remove the two screws on the packing gland retaining plate with a 5/16" socket and ratchet drive extension or 5/16" nut driver.
Pull out the packing gland.
Pry off the retaining ring with a standard screwdriver.
Pull the driver out from the assembly.
Retaining Plate Installation
Select the mounting holes for the retaining plate based on the presence of a counter adapter dust cover.

Close the belly valve of the supply tank
Close the valve on the vapor return line

Is there a manual valve on the inlet side of the meter?
Consult the truck manufacturer for procedures to depressurize the system if no manual valve exists
Slowly open the valve/nozzle at the end of the supply line
Gap Check
Initial Inspection
Look for gaps when disassembling the meter
Check for gaps between the bearing plate and housing using a feeler gauge
Gap Analysis
Check the bearing plates for flatness with a straight edge
Are there any shock problems causing the gaps?
Resolution
Have shock problems been resolved?
Contact full-service distributor for assistance if shock problems exist
Fasteners Check
Examine Fasteners
Check fasteners for issues
Are all threads evenly placed?
Check for Bent Bolts
Are any bolts bent?
Check housing and cover for flatness if bolts are bent
