Visually inspect for dirt and physical damage

Warning: To achieve an optimum useful life avoid operational discharges of more than 60% of nominal capacity

Enter the current battery capacity

Is the battery discharged by more than 80% of rated capacity?

Warning: If the battery is discharged during operation by more than 80% of rated capacity the useful life of the battery will reduce significantly

Is the battery fully or partially discharged?

Warning: Fully or partially discharged batteries must be re-charged immediately and not left unattended

Sign off on the battery discharging procedure

Prepare the truck for maintenance and repairs

Connection removed and gauze filter taken out

Sign off on the gauze filter maintenance

Batteries and trays must be cleaned in order to

– Maintain cell insulation and protect cells from ground or external conductive parts

– Avoid damage from corrosion and stray currents

– Avoid excessive and varying automatic discharge of the individual cells or block batteries due to stray currents

– Avoid electric sparking due to stray currents

When cleaning the batteries make sure that:

– The assembly site chosen for cleaning is close to a drainage system for processing the electrolytic rinsing water

– All health and safety as well as water and waste disposal regulations are observed when disposing of used electrolyte or rinsing water
