1 Yearly Coalescing Filter Element Replacement
DANGER: Vent internal pressure to atmospheric pressure before performing any maintenance.
Vent the internal pressure to the atmosphere. Refer to the shutdown instructions.
Disconnect drain lines at manual and automatic drain valves (if installed).
DANGER: A 'hissing' sound while the bowl is being removed indicates the filter has not been properly depressurized. DO NOT continue to remove the bow until the filter has been completely vented to atmospheric pressure.
Remove the bottom bowl by unscrewing it from the head. A strap wrench may be needed.
Remove the element from the filter head with a brisk downward pull, or by working the element back and forth until it snaps free. Discard the element in accordance with applicable regulations.
Clean accumulated debris from the bowl with soap and water, and dry thoroughly.
Lightly lubricate the new element O-ring before installing the new element.
Insert new element, snapping it into place with a firm push up into the head. The element will hang from the head until the bowl is installed.
1 Monthly Refrigerated Air Dryer Maintenance
Monthly Maintenance
Inspect the condenser coils for air-cooled condensers
Remove dust, dirt or other particles with a soft brush or with compressed air from an OSHA-approved air nozzle that limits its discharge pressure to 30 psig
If the coils are coated with oil, grease or other substances that reduce the cooling efficiency, clean the coils with a solvent
Follow the solvent manufacturer's directions for proper use and disposal, including the use of proper protective equipment

1 Monthly Water Quality Analysis
Fouling
Biological and organic substances (slime) can also cause problems, but in elevated temperature environments such as cooling processes they are not a major concern. If they create problems with clogging, com mercial shock treatments are available.
To ensure continued good operation and performance of the dryer cooling system, the recommended ranges for different water constituents are below.
Iron - Concentration <2 ppm - Monthly Analysis
Sulfate - Concentration <50 ppm - Monthly Analysis
Chloride - Concentration <50 ppm - Monthly Analysis
Nitrate - Concentration <2 ppm - Monthly Analysis
Silica - Concentration <100 ppm - Monthly Analysis
Oil and grease - Concentration <5 ppm - Monthly Analysis
