Load chain is not twisted or kinked

Did the bottom block roll over?

Does the chain weld face outwards?

Is the load chain approved by the manufacturer?

Non-compliance with manufacturer's specification will render the legal warranty or guarantee void with immediate effect

Sign off on the chain reeving inspection

Warning: This check requires trained personnel with PPE!

Lift, pull or tension and lower or release a load over a short distance with the unit

When the hand chain is released, the load must be held in any position

Repeat the check at least twice

Is the brake functioning properly?

ATTENTION: If the brake does not function properly, the unit must be immediately taken out of service and the manufacturer must be contacted!

Sign off on the brake function check

Warning: Ensure the chain is in no-load condition before lubrication

Chain lubricated with creep-type lubricant or PTFE spray

Lubricant reached the contact points of the chain links

Chain lubricated over its entire length, including the part in the hoist housing

Chain cleaned with petroleum or a similar cleaning agent

Chain checked for wear during lubrication

ATTENTION: Ensure no lubricant penetrates into the brake enclosure

Sign off on the load chain maintenance

Warning: For safety reasons, hand chain links may only be used once.

Identified the non-welded link of the hand chain?

Enter the new length of the hand chain in mm

Did you ensure to remove or add an even number of chain links?

Used a new link to close the loose chain ends?

Made sure that hand chains are not twisted while they are fitted?

Sign off on the hand chain adjustment

Warning: Ensure you have an open load chain link before starting the procedure.

Did you successfully cut a section from an existing link with the same dimension?

Did you open the old hand chain and suspend the open link into the loose end of the hand chain?

Did you suspend the new hand chain in the open link and pull it through the chain guides and over the hand chain wheel?

Did you ensure the chain is not twisted and the welds face outwards?

Did you separate the old hand chain including the open connection link from the new hand chain?

Did you connect the two loose ends of the new hand chain by means of a new hand chain connection link?
