Is the open link suspended into the loose end of the hand chain which lies 'in front of' the hand chain wheel?

Is the new hand chain also suspended in the open link and pulled through the chain guides and over the hand chain wheel?

Is the old hand chain including the open connection link separated from the new hand chain?

Are the two loose ends of the new hand chain connected by means of a new hand chain connection link?

Sign off on the hand chain replacement

Warning: For safety reasons, hand chain links may only be used once.

Is the distance of the lower end to the floor between 500 – 1000 mm?

Look for the non-welded link of the hand chain, bend to open and discard it.

Did you shorten or extend the chain to the required length?

ATTENTION: Always remove or add an even number of chain links.

Did you use a new link to close the loose chain ends by bending it?

ATTENTION: Make sure that hand chains are not twisted while they are fitted.

Are the hand chains not twisted while they are fitted?

Sign off on the hand chain adjustment

Warning: This inspection requires trained personnel with PPE!

Load chain is not twisted or kinked

Chain reeved correctly with chain weld facing outwards

Load chains approved by the manufacturer?

Non-compliance with this specification will render the legal warranty or guarantee void with immediate effect

Sign off on the chain reeving inspection

Supporting structure has sufficient stability

Enter the expected forces that can be safely absorbed by the supporting structure

Enter the details of the supporting structure

Sign off on the attachment point inspection

Warning: Ensure the chain is in no-load condition before lubrication.

Is the chain properly lubricated at the link contact points?

Is the chain lubricated over its entire length, including the part in the hoist housing?

Is the chain clean and free of dirt?

Is the change-over area from lifting to lowering movement checked?

Attention: Ensure no lubricant penetrates into the brake enclosure.

Is the brake enclosure free of lubricant?
