Warning: Always apply the parking brake when leaving the seat.

1 Daily / 8 Hourly Carriage Assembly Forks Check
Warning: Forks must be removed or installed by trained personnel only.
Warning: DO NOT try to move a fork without a lifting device. The forks can weigh 45 to 115 kg (99 to 254 lb).
Note: Forks are to be replaced only in sets and not individually.
Check condition of forks. Replace if necessary.
Forks, Remove
Lower the carriage and remove four capscrews from inner fork carriers. Remove inner fork carriers from fork positioner.
Slide a hook fork to the fork removal notch on the carriage. Lower the fork onto blocks so that the lower fork hook moves through the fork removal notch.
Lower the carriage further so that the top fork hook is disengaged from the top carriage bar. Move the carriage away from the fork, or use a lifting device to move the fork away from the carriage.
Forks, Inspect
1 Daily / 8 Hourly Steering System Check
Steering system operates when a properly charged battery is connected, an operator is present in the seat, and the key or keyless switch is in the ON position
Steering tire and wheel assembly turns smoothly to its left stop
Steering tire stops approximately parallel to the battery when turned to the left
Steering tire and wheel assembly turns smoothly to its right stop
Steering system moves smoothly and makes a full range of motion from its full left to full right position (approximately 180 degrees)

1 Daily / 8 Hourly Electrical Components Check
Check the operation of the horn by pressing the horn button on the steering wheel.
Check the operation of the lights using the appropriate rocker switch, located on the right side of the steering column.
Check the operation of the front lights by turning the key or keyless switch to the ON position to ensure lights come on.
Check the operation of the rear drive light by selecting reverse using the MONOTROL® pedal or direction control switch.
Check the strobe light by turning the key or keyless switch to the ON position and check the operation of the light.
Check the backup alarm on lift trucks equipped with a direction control switch by sitting in the seat and turning the key or keyless switch to the ON position.
Check the backup alarm on lift trucks equipped with a MONOTROL® pedal by sitting in the seat, turning the key or keyless switch to the ON position, and pressing the reverse arrow on the MONOTROL® pedal.
Check the seat switch. Turn the key or keyless switch to the OFF position and leave the seat.
Check the display panel, located in the upper right corner of the operator's compartment, is also energized when the key or keyless switch is turned to the ON position.
