Inspect for Visible Damage and Defects of Hydraulic Hoses, Fittings, and Clamps and Adjust, Repair, or Replace as Necessary
8 Hourly / 1 Daily Check
WARNING: DO NOT operate a lift truck that needs repairs.
If a repair is necessary, put a DO NOT OPERATE tag in the operator’s area. Remove the key from the key switch.
Inspect the lift truck every 8 hours or daily before use. Put the lift truck on a level surface. Lower the carriage and forks, and turn the key switch to the OFF position.
If repair is required, put a tag in the operator’s area that indicates the lift truck cannot be operated. DO NOT operate a lift truck until the problems are corrected.
Electrolyte and specific gravity of the battery
Battery is clean and the correct size; and weight for the lift truck
Battery restraint plates are in place
Leaks in the hydraulic system
Condition of the wheels and tires
8 Hourly / 1 Daily Check
1) Battery
Check battery for full charge (Change if necessary) (Equalization charge approximately each month, but not more than each week.)
Check fluid level
Check condition of restraint panel (Repair as necessary)
Check operation of power disconnect (Repair as necessary)
2) Brake
Check operation (Repair as necessary)
3) Control handle
Check operation (Repair as necessary)
2000 Hourly / 1 Yearly Maintenance

Hold on Grade Test - Capacity Load on 10% Slope

Check Condition of Contactors and Repair as Necessary
