1 Daily Diaphragm Pump Maintenance
Inspect system for leaks
Depressurize fluid, after operation
Remove heat from system, after operation
Inspect diaphragm for wear
Inspect check valves components for wear
Sign off on the daily diaphragm pump maintenance
Check Valve Replacement
Disassembly
Pressure relieved and all hoses disconnected
Pump removed from its mounting and drained
Both upper clamps removed from the outlet manifold
Outlet manifold removed leaving elbows, gaskets, clamps, and tee assembled
For 3A Ball Check pumps: ball gasket removed
Middle clamp and ball stop housing removed
Middle gasket and ball removed
Lower clamp, seat, and gasket removed
1 Weekly Diaphragm Pump Check
Check hoses for wear
Check/tighten fluid connections
Check/tighten air connections
Before each use, check all hoses for wear or damage, and replace as necessary. Check to be sure all connections are tight and leak-free.
Sign off on the pump check
Bearing and Air Gasket Replacement
Disassembly
Pressure relieved
Manifolds and ball check valves removed
Fluid covers and diaphragm assemblies removed
Air valve disassembled
Screws holding the air covers to the center housing removed using a 10 mm socket wrench
Air cover gaskets removed and replaced with new ones
Diaphragm shaft bearings, air valve bearings or pilot pin bearings removed using a bearing puller
U-cups removed and inspected, parts replaced as needed
Diaphragm Replacement
Disassembly
Pressure relieved
Manifolds and ball check valves removed
Clamps removed and fluid covers pulled off the pump
Diaphragm assembly loosened and one assembly free
Free diaphragm assembly disassembled
Plate with bolt installed, diaphragm, and plate removed
Other diaphragm assembly and diaphragm shaft removed from the center housing
Diaphragm shaft inspected for wear or scratches
