Hologic Processor Thin Prep T2000

Detach the bottom connector (yellow) with the waste filter in line

Drain the fluid from the waste filter

Did the liquid drain adequately from the waste filter?

Force the liquid off the filter using a syringe or clean air source if necessary

Turn off the power to the instrument

Gather lint-free wipes and de-ionized water

Clean dust from the filter cap bobbins using a dampened lint-free wipe

Clean dust from the slide holder using a dampened lint-free wipe

Clean dust from the cabinet exterior using a dampened lint-free wipe

Clean the cap seal and below the sample holder without turning off the power

Clean the inside surface of the window with a lint-free wipe

Clean the outside surface of the door’s window with a lint-free wipe

Slide the door open approximately three inches

Release the tab on the open edge of the door with your left thumb

Push the back of the window out with your fingers

Inspection of Filter Seal O-Rings

Inspect the filter seal O-rings for cracking or tearing

Are the O-rings cracked or torn?

Replacement of Filter Seal O-Rings

Use a plastic or wooden utensil to lift the filter seal O-ring out of the groove

Roll the O-ring off the edge of the filter cap base

Roll the new O-ring over the edge of the filter cap base until seated in the groove

Ensure the new filter seal O-ring is seated properly and not twisted

Lubricate the new filter seal O-ring as described in Section D

Open the door of the ThinPrep 2000 Processor

Remove the foam shipping insert

Turn the rotating plate clockwise into a horizontal position

Save the foam insert for subsequent instrument packaging

Ensure power is off before starting the procedure
