Place a suitably sized container below the JHPU Tank Drain Plug

Remove the drain plug and let the oil flow into the container

Refit the drain plug and tighten

Fill the JHPU to the Max mark on the dipstick with the correct grade of oil

Discard the waste oil in accordance with current regulations

Use the oil filler hole to suck oil from the reservoir using an 'Oil Retrieval System'

Switch the Normal/Backup selector switch to Backup mode

Is the vessel operating in Backup mode?

Has the vessel returned to port?

Is the vessel master satisfied with the control in Backup mode?

Is the helmsman familiar with Backup operation?

Is there any Normal Control fault?

Inspect the belts for any signs of damage

Is there any sign of deterioration on the belts?

Are the V-Belts excessively hot to touch?

If excessively hot, describe the potential issues (e.g., incorrect tension, need for replacement)

Do the V-Belts require replacement?

Visual Inspection of Jogstick Rubber Boot

Inspect the Jogstick rubber boot for any signs of damage

Is the Jogstick rubber boot free from damage?

Replacement of Damaged Rubber Boot

Replace the Jogstick rubber boot if damaged

Is the Control Panel waterproof after replacement?

Is there any leak at the sealing face or cover plate?

Replace the cover seal if leaking

Inspect for leaks at the hose connections
