Belt Drive Maintenance
Initial Inspection
Check for wear, tension, alignment, and dirt accumulation on V-belt drives
Are the sheaves free from grooves and wear?
Belt Replacement
Are all belts being replaced on multiple groove drives?
Loosen belt tension to remove belts without prying
Ensure slack in each belt is on the same side of the drive after replacement
Tension Adjustment
Measure belt deflection halfway between sheave centers (inches)

Confirm that building supply voltage matches the voltage for which the unit is wired.
Disconnect and lock-out all power switches to fan.
Check all piping and wiring penetrations made by contractors for water tightness.
Check all fasteners, set screws and locking collars for tightness.
Rotate the fan wheel by hand and assure no parts are rubbing.
Check for bearing alignment and lubrication.
Check the V-belt drive for proper alignment and tension.
Check all guarding for secure attachment and no interference with rotating parts.

Inspect the fan for moisture or dirt accumulations.

Was moisture or dirt accumulation found on parts?
If moisture or dirt was found, describe the source and actions taken to eliminate it.
