Disconnect all electrical power to the fan and secure to the 'off' position

Make the unit non-functional by removing fuses and locking off the disconnect

Clean exterior surfaces of the motor

Was the cleaning performed evenly to avoid imbalance and vibration?

Inspect the motor for any visible damage after cleaning

Is the motor functioning properly after cleaning?

Inspect and adjust as necessary

Adjust belt tension after the first 24-48 hours of operation

Measure the motor amperage rating

Measure the motor voltage rating

Is the motor amperage and voltage compatible with the supply voltage?

Route electrical supply through the conduit chase between the mounting plate and the bottom of the motor compartment

Ensure the fan is not lifted by the fan hood

Avoid lifting fans in a way that will bend or distort fan parts

Lubrication Frequency Assessment

Select the type of service environment

Ensure the use of a good quality lithium base grease, conforming to NLGI Grade 2 consistency

Is the lubrication process completed successfully?

Check for any unusual noise or vibration after lubrication

Describe any issues encountered during lubrication

Disconnect and secure all electrical power to the fan

Ensure the unit is non-functional (fuses removed, disconnect locked off)

Are grease fittings provided on the motor?

Is the motor temperature below 104ºF (40ºC)?

Grease the motor according to manufacturer's recommendations
