Oil Separator Element Maintenance
Preparation
Ensure the unit is completely off and that no pressure is in the oil reservoir.
Disconnect, tag, and lockout power supply to the starter.
Refer to OEM Packager’s instructions.
Pressure Differential Gauging
Measure the pressure differential across the oil separator.
Is the pressure differential approximately 8 PSI or more?
Replace the oil separator element if the pressure differential is 8 PSI or more.
Inspection
1 Yearly Relief Valve Check
Pre-Check Preparations
Ensure the system is at normal operating conditions
Record the current system operating pressure
Relief Valve Test
Raise the system operating pressure to 75% of relief valve set pressure
Manually open the relief valve with the hand lever
Hold the valve open for a few seconds
Ensure the valve snaps shut properly
Post-Test Verification
Compressor Oil Level Adjustment
Safety Precautions
Ensure the unit is completely off and no gas pressure is in the oil reservoir.
Disconnect, tag, and lockout the power supply to the starter.
Oil Addition Process
Wipe away all dirt around the oil filler plug.
Remove the oil filler plug.
Add oil to return the oil level to the center of the run range when the unit is operating.
Replace the oil filler plug before restoring power to the unit.

Is the ambient temperature above 40° F?
Ensure provisions are made to prevent reservoir or compressor discharge temperature from dropping below 40° F
Record current reservoir or compressor discharge temperature
