EPROM Replacement
EPROM
Please follow these steps before removing or replacing an EPROM:
Disconnect the battery.
Disconnect the AC power.
Removal:
Follow these steps to remove the EPROM. (Be sure your hands are fairly clean before touching a PC board.)
1. Turn the AC power OFF.
2. Unplug the battery.
3. Touch your finger to a ground to discharge static.
Main Transformer Replacement
Return all replaced components to your service center.
Reconnect all leads exactly as they were removed.
Replace any heat-shrink tubing if any old tubing was removed.
Retighten all connections.
Replace covers.
Disconnect the battery.
Disconnect the AC power.
Use the wiring diagrams in the back of this manual to help identify wires connected to the transformer.
Remove the AC input wires from the 3 terminal input blocks.
Snubber Assembly Test
Disconnect the battery.
Disconnect the AC power.
The snubber assembly consists of a series resistor and a capacitor.
Verify that the mounting wire is sound--properly screwed on and not broken
Verify that the Snubber assembly is not burned, broken, or smoking.
To test the snubber assembly, disconnect a mounting wire and check for no continuity
Enter the meter reading
Replace if your meter reads less than 200k ohms.
Sign off on the snubber assembly test
Diode Test
Disconnect the battery and AC power before starting the test.
Battery disconnected
AC power disconnected
You will be testing the diode to see if it is shorted.
Three phase input wires to the SCR/Diode Blocks disconnected
Meter's negative lead connected to the input connection of the SCR/Diode Block
Meter's positive lead connected to the - bussbar
Reading on the meter
Wires on the meter reversed
Control Transformer Test
Warning: Disconnect the battery before testing the control transformer.
You will be testing the wiring of the control transformer for continuity.
Lugs 1 through 5 are located at the front of the control transformer, with lug 1 at the top.
Lugs 6 through 10 are located in the back, with lug 10 at the top.
Enter the lugs specified in the ID Board.
Enter the measurement across the lugs.
Does the measurement correspond with what is listed in the table?
Did you replace the control transformer if the measurement did not correspond?
Sign off on the control transformer test.
