Shut off electric and gas supply to the burner

Install standpipe in tee of inlet/outlet line

Ensure the circulating pump is properly sized for the application

Check water hardness, system pressure drop, and temperature rise across the boiler

Oil the three oil cups (2 on the motor, 1 on the pump) as instructed on the oil tube supplied with the unit

Add 2 or 3 teaspoonfuls of No. 20 non-detergent motor oil in bearing oil cups

Add 10 or 12 drops of No. 20 non-detergent motor oil in motor oil cups

Is the lubrication process completed for all oil cups?

Ensure the boiler is turned off and cooled down

Is the area around the boiler free from lint and debris?

Sweep the floor around the boiler carefully to reduce dust and dirt

Check that the flow of combustion and ventilation air to the boiler is not obstructed

Is the boiler area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids?

Shut off all electric to the unit

Disconnect pilot line connection at main burner

Remove cover panel from far side of water connections

Inspect to ensure tubes are free of scale and deposits

Remove deposits with a stiff wire brush or mechanical tube cleaner to bare metal
