Inspect all safety devices including low water cutoffs for proper operation

Low Water Cutoff Device Maintenance

Flush the low water cutoff device of the float type

Ensure the circulating pump is properly sized for the application

Check water hardness and system pressure drop

Verify temperature rise across the boiler

Oil the three oil cups (2 on the motor, 1 on the pump) as instructed on the oil tube

Add 2 or 3 teaspoonfuls of No. 20 non-detergent motor oil in bearing oil cups

Add 10 or 12 drops of No. 20 non-detergent motor oil in motor oil cups

Ensure water softening equipment is operational

Is there a change of approximately 5°F in the normal temperature rise through the boiler?

Inspect the interior of the inlet/outlet manifold through the pressure relief valve tapping for lime build-up

Ensure all necessary parts are in place

Use copper or brass for all valves, pipe, and fittings between gate valves A and B and the boiler

Read the instructions on the label of the UN•LIME container

Shut off all electric to the unit

Disconnect pilot line connection at main burner

Verify the following conditions

Oil the two motor oil cups with 10 or 12 drops of No. 20 non-detergent motor oil

Oil the pump oil cup with 2 or 3 teaspoonfuls of No. 20 non-detergent motor oil

Is the oiling procedure completed as per the instructions on the oil tube?

Is the system ready for operation?
