Manual Handwheel Clutch Assembly Replacement
Removal of Covers
Remove all hex head cap screws (53) and associated lockwashers (54).
Remove the limit switch compartment cover (51) from the actuator assembly.
Remove all hex head cap screws (69) and associated lockwashers (70).
Remove the thrust switch compartment cover (65) from the actuator assembly.
Motor Disconnection and Removal
Disconnect all electrical power leads to the motor (30).
Remove all carriage bolts and associated lockwashers.
Remove the motor end bell.

Safety Precautions
Disconnect all electrical power to the actuator
Wear approved Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE)
Be aware of internal moving parts and pinch point hazards
Ensure service personnel are licensed/trained and authorized
Use assistance when moving or lifting to avoid injury
Disassembly Steps
Remove compartment covers
Disconnect electrical power leads to the motor
High Potential Testing
Pre-Test Instructions
Ensure the unit is not equipped with motor control cards
Verify that tests involving electrical power to units with motor control cards are covered by a separate procedure
Voltage Setting
Select the voltage setting for the appropriate motor voltage as indicated on nameplate
Set the test equipment to the selected voltage
Testing Procedure
Ensure the test equipment ground wire is contacting the gear case plate
Contact each test point shown on wiring diagram
Brake Adjustment
Preparation
Remove the brake cover to expose square head wear adjusting screws (15H) and expose the magnetic air gap “A”.
Measurement
Measure the air gap “A” using 3/8” to 1/2” wide feeler gauge at the center of the magnet.
Adjustment
Turn the two square head wear adjusting screws until the air gap “A” measures the correct value for the model.
Is the air gap the same on both sides?
Caution
Ensure brakes are not adjusted for higher torques to prevent premature coil burnout.
Geared Position Limit Switch Adjustment
Preparation
Disconnect all electrical power to actuator
Remove the position limit switch compartment cover (51)
Remove the motor pipe plug (100)
Actuator Shaft Adjustment
Rotate the shaft clockwise to extend the actuator shaft
Are the rotor (#36-1) contact fingers closed?
Adjust rotor (#36-1) contact fingers
