Loosen the maintenance cover screw and remove the maintenance cover.

Unsnap the air cleaner cover clips and remove the air cleaner cover.

Remove the foam air filter from the air cleaner cover.

Check if the foam air filter is clean and in good condition.

Is the foam air filter damaged?

Loosen the maintenance cover screw and remove the maintenance cover.

Unsnap the air cleaner cover clips and remove the air cleaner cover.

Remove the foam air filter from the air cleaner cover.

Check if the foam air filter is clean and in good condition.

Is the foam air filter damaged?

Ensure the engine is cool before servicing the spark plug.

Gather necessary tools and materials

Remove the spark plug maintenance cover.

Disconnect the spark plug cap and remove any dirt from around the spark plug area.

Remove the spark plug with a spark plug wrench.

Spark Plug Inspection and Cleaning

Inspect the spark plug for worn or fouled electrodes, or cracked/chipped insulator.

Ensure the generator is on a level surface and the engine is stopped.

Loosen the maintenance cover screw and remove the maintenance cover.

Remove the oil filler cap by turning it counterclockwise.

Insert the dipstick into the oil filler neck without screwing it in, then remove it to check the oil level.

Is the oil level near or below the lower limit?

Turn the engine switch to the OFF position

Loosen the maintenance cover screw and remove the maintenance cover

Place a suitable container next to the engine to catch the used oil

Drain the oil into the container by tipping the engine toward the oil filler neck

Dispose of the used oil properly
