Terminate electrical power to the unit

Ensure gas supply to the unit is within specified pressures

Ensure no people or animals are present in the conditioned space during startup

Spray soap solution leak detector at each threaded connection of the gas supply piping

Observe each connection for bubbles indicating leaks

Describe any leaks found and actions taken

Disconnect power to wheel drive motor

Remove belt from pulley and position temporarily around wheel rim

Loosen set screw in wheel drive pulley using a hex head wrench and remove pulley from motor drive shaft

While supporting weight of drive motor in one hand, loosen and remove (4) mounting bolts

Install replacement motor with hardware kit supplied

Install pulley to dimension as shown and secure set screw to drive shaft

Stretch belt over pulley and engage in groove

Ensure all components are securely fastened

Inspect all flue product carrying areas of the furnace and main burners for continued safe operation.

Check the gas pipe in the unit for leaks before operation and startup.

Conduct a leak check for all gas piping connections.

Ensure all gas supply lines have been purged of air.

Turn the gas valve to the on position.

Turn the main electrical power on and set the controls to the heating mode of operation.

Grab the protruding tongue of the segment to remove and twist it to release the segment from the chain.

Disconnect the belt in that place.

Remove the necessary amount of segments to increase the belt tension.

Connect the shortened belt ends by inserting the protruding tongue through the hole of the other half of the belt.

Grab the second tongue and insert it through the second hole using pliers, then twist it back to the starting position.

Check air temperature entering the water coils

Is the air temperature above 3.3°C (38°F)?

Use glycol solution if air temperature is below 3.3°C (38°F)

Verify compliance with national and local codes for piping and safety devices

Ensure proper sealing of water piping entries into the unit

Inspect for any damage to the unit or property due to improper sealing
