Verify that all safety protocols are in place

Inspect the following components for wear and tear

Record the operating pressure of the unit

Is the operating pressure within the normal range?

Ensure the area is well-ventilated

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Check all connections for leaks

Was any leak detected during the inspection?

If a leak was detected, was it repaired?

Ensure all necessary equipment and materials are available

Pump the cleaning liquid through the exchanger

Ensure cleaning solution flow rate is at least 1.5 times the normal flow rate

Rinse the heat exchanger with clean water

Use a solution of 1-2% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) or sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO) before the last rinse

Has the need for cleaning been confirmed by a qualified service agency?

Has consultation with an AAON Service representative been completed?

Was the cleaning performed by a qualified service agency?

Measure the current sub-cooling temperature

Measure the current superheat temperature

Is the system overcharged or undercharged?

Is the sub-cooling temperature too high and evaporator fully loaded?

Reduce the amount of refrigerant in the system to lower the sub-cooling
